Well, that wraps up Case 005. Case 006 will be along soon, but first, we have some sad news. After two years and 263 pages of RW goodness (not counting bonus strips, police blotters, etc.), the dynamic duo of Dave and Rob are stepping down as the regular art team behind your favorite detectives. It’s been a real pleasure to work with them over the past couple of years, and they’ve brought Frank and FELIX to life in ways Chris and I never dared hope for. But never fear! They aren’t escaping our clutches that easily–we’re already cooking up some cool “expanded universe” stories to let the boys flex their artistic muscles. (For example–whatever happened to Dr. Elvis and Johnny after the Policeman’s Ball?) Today’s strip is far from the last comic you’ll see from the OG RW team. But today, raise a glass to Dave and Rob, and join me in a round of applause for their incredible work–because, with their cramped, bleeding drawing hands, clapping and lifting glasses are two things they are no longer able to do themselves.
